Occupational Health Services

What is it?

Our Occupational Health Service is provided by our in-house team of experts. Occupational Health is about improving the health & wellbeing of everyone at work and helping to ensure that they have a healthier, safer working environment.

How will this look?

Our Occupational Health Service team give loads of help, advice and practical support. It’s all free and all confidential.  Things on offer include:

  • Checks to make sure you’re fit and healthy enough to work with us before you start your new job
  • Advice about risks or contamination in your work place
  • Flu jabs and other immunisations
  • Helping managers with people who are off sick or are in danger of going off sick
  • Helping people who have concerns about their health by having conversations and helping them to stay well at work, so that they don’t have to go off sick and can continue to make their contribution
  • Assessments to see if bits of kit that you need to use in your work area are safe
  • Confidential counselling

We’re developing all the time and we’re looking at moving away from paper based systems and more towards technology to help us. We’ll be looking at the skills that we have in the team and reviewing how we do things so that we can provide great services into the future.

Long Covid Support Group

At CHFT we have a newly formed group for colleagues experiencing Long Covid.   The group meets once a month to chat through any concerns they may have.  It’s useful to know that you’re not going through this on your own – there is help and support out there.  Email OccupationalHealth@cht.nhs.uk if you would like to get involved.

A series of 9 videos on YouTube – Managing your mental and health and wellbeing with Long Covid. The videos have been put together by Bradford District Care as part of the work of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health Care Partnership Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub.
